Camino Planning Consult

Walking the Camino? Talk to Someone Doing the Homework Right Now

This September we walk the Camino Portugues Coastal- Porto to Santiago, 259 kilometers, 15 stages- with Shana’s parents along for every step. Self-guided. No group, no bus, no guide walking point. We picked the operator, mapped the stages, booked our own flights to Portugal on transferable points (see exactly how in the Porto redemption on our results page), and asked every question you are probably asking right now. Ask us how many spreadsheets it took.

The Camino Planning Consult- $150

One 60-minute call plus a written plan, built from what we learned planning ours:

  • Which route and section honestly fit your party- including when the answer is “not this one, not yet”
  • Self-guided operator vs booking stages yourself: what an operator actually does, what it costs, and when it earns its fee
  • Walking with parents or mixed fitness levels: stage lengths, rest days, and the conversations to have before anyone buys a ticket
  • Luggage transfer, lodging patterns, and the logistics most blogs skip
  • Where points genuinely help (flights to Porto or Lisbon on transferable points- we will show you our math) and where they do not
  • The questions to ask any operator before you commit

What we do not do: we do not book anything for you, and nobody we mention pays us a commission. You get the honest read on operator, lodging, and route; the decisions stay yours. You book it. We never touch your accounts or your money.

We are on the trail September 15 to October 4. Book before we leave and we will get you sorted. Write to us while we are walking and we will answer when we are back- probably with better advice than we could give you today.

Mention the Camino. Jeremy replies within 48 hours.
